A message from Tom Kobal, LTC principal.

Dear Students, Parents and Carers,

Hello!

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and thank you for the warm welcome I have received since my arrival in the Lake Tuggeranong College community. As you may be aware, Julie Murkins has moved into the Education Support Office and at this point in time I will be leading the College for the next six months, with a possibility of extension. Most recently I have been a School Leader at Narrabundah College and Telopea Park School. Originally, I started my working life as an Electrical Engineer but discovered that teaching was always the real profession for me and where my passion lied. I moved into teaching Mathematics in many settings, including Mt Druitt High School (Western Sydney) and Wanniassa High School. I have been privileged to be part of the ACT Public Education system for many years. I believe that quality education is a basic human right we are all entitled to.

I have been overwhelmed by the warmth and genuineness from the staff and students alike as they welcomed me into the LTC community. I have been able to visit classes, talk with students in a variety of forums and experience our Harmony Day celebrations. I was impressed with the expertise and commitment of the LTC staff and I am excited to work with them to empower our students to grow in their learning and social/emotional well-being.
