Information Night

Photography Nathan Craft, Year 11.

A massive thank you for all of your efforts on a busy but so productive night. I really got to see our teachers and admin staff come to together and put on a great show. There was a great buzz and I was able to have many conversations with prospective students and families, our current students and teachers. The positivity and willingness to help was a standout. The displays and efforts to engage with our community are obviously a strength here at LTC! It is really hard to single out people because I feel that everyone who was able to played a part. Thank you to those of you who played the coordinating roles because you helped bring it all together!

Many families left our event feeling positive and committed to becoming part of the LTC community. That’s a wonderful outcome!

Library Book Donations -Thanks

A HUGE thank you to Nalini Haynes, who has been donating mountains of fresh, new young adult books to our LTC library collection.  Nalini writes the book review blog Dark Matter Zine and is a local Tuggeranong resident who values public education.

Some popular categories of her book reviews include Doctor Who, Cosplay, Fantasy, Horror, and Speculative Fiction.

Nalini also interviews authors for her podcast, also called Dark Matter Zine.  Here is a link to her interview with Garth Nix about The Lefthanded Booksellers of London and her interview with our very own Holly Godfree (LTC teacher librarian) about why students need school libraries.

A special thank you, too, to Albert Opoku, who has just completed Work Experience in our library.  One of the many things he did for us was to put all of Nalini’s donations into order.  This will make it much easier for Glenys and Robyn to add them to our collection.  Thanks, Albert, also for taking these photos!

Thanks to Vina Bakehouse and Coles Wanniassa

Thanks to Quan at Vina Backhouse

THANK YOU to Lachlan and Lewis at Coles Wanniassa and Quan at Vina Bakehouse and Coffee Shop for their continued support of our students.

We have lovely fresh bread for our breakfast club and a variety of fresh fruit donated each week.

Thanks to Lachlan and Lewis at Coles Wanniassa
