Congrats Holly!

One of our teacher librarians, Holly, is the deserving recipient of the 2019 Australian Teacher Librarian of the Year Award. Lake Tuggeranong College would like to congratulate Holly for winning this well-deserved award.

This award recognises the contributions she makes not only to LTC but also to the wider community. Holly advocates locally via the Education Minister and the Australian Education Union and nationally as campaign co-ordinator for Students Need School Libraries.

There was much ninja-like stealth within the LTC library team at the end of last year to gather the information for the nomination. Holly’s nomination included testimonials from not only our team and from Julie Murkins as principal, but from local and national colleagues speaking about how Holly makes a difference in the teacher librarian profession.

This award is even more exciting as it’s the Australian School Library Association’s 50th anniversary this year and the national conference is being held in Canberra. There is nothing better than to win this award while celebrating in your home town! Holly will be presented with her award at a conference dinner in the April school holidays.

If you would like to hear more about Holly, her acceptance speech is available on the Australian School Library Association Website.

We are so proud of Holly and her achievement.
