During the recent school holiday break LTC teacher librarians, Holly and Lori, travelled to Sydney to attend and present at the Australian School Library Association’s national biennial conference – Challenge to Change. Teacher librarians and other library staff were represented from each State and Territory. A conference such as this is an important opportunity to undertake professional learning to ensure that LTC Library is providing cutting edge teaching and learning support for the school and wider community.
Lori and Holly presented a workshop about our Keys to Success program and the journey that was taken to develop and create the program to meet the needs of LTC students. Participants were also able to brainstorm ideas for development of their own Keys to Success-style programs, and take away a folder of resources including a shared Google Doc that contained contributions from all workshop participants.
The workshop was a great success with 45 participants! It was an honour to be able to represent LTC at a national level and receive such positive feedback for a program that we are proud to be able to provide.
Please take part in the LTC Keys to Success program in Term 3 (STARTING THURSDAY 20 JULY)… Give yourself a head start with the skills you need to get ahead at LTC. Learn about researching effectively, discover tools that can make completing your assessment easier, discuss issues around digital citizenship, find out how to avoid plagiarism, and define the mystery that is Creative Commons. This R Unit is worth 0.2 points towards your Senior Secondary Certificate.
Come and see Lori and Holly in the LTC Library ASAP if you’re interested.
