On the 5th and 6th of November, seven LTC Year 12 students and three members of staff entered a team in the Cancer Council’s Relay For Life event held at the Vikings Erindale Sportsground.
Relay For Life is a chance for communities to recognise and celebrate those who have overcome cancer or are undergoing treatment, as well as the people who care for them. Relay also provides an opportunity to celebrate the memory of loved ones lost to cancer. Teams participate in a relay-style walk, challenging themselves to stay on the track overnight and to keep a team baton on the move for 24 hours.
As well as raising awareness, the event is an opportunity to raise funds for The Cancer Council. The LTC Team would like to thank all those who donated to the team and to individuals. To date, over $1200 has been raised by the team. Well done!
Finally, the 2016 team would like to challenge any potential 2017 team – 302 laps were walked this year…can we beat that next year?
