“What helps you feel positive?” was the topic for the Mental Wellbeing Market Day on 17 October.
While the rainy weather meant we had to run the market day in the student common area, there were a lot of positives to celebrate. Darlene and her classes presented a wide array of stalls selling art, food, beauty products, second hand clothes and more. Students raised money for charities such as Barnados, Relay for Life, and the college’s ramp project. The ramp will be built on the stairs next to Pavilion 5 so people in wheelchairs can have easy access to the lakeside.
There was a real buzz as students and staff browsed the stalls, played table tennis and talked to community organisations like headspace, the Junction and Lanyon Youth Centre.
We thank the Mental Health Community Coalition of ACT for grant money that seeded this market day.
