LTC student delivers Remembrance Day reading at the AWM

Lake Tuggeranong College year 11 student, Max Claessens, made his second high profile address for 2015 when he had the honour of performing a reading at the Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial on Wednesday 11 November 2015.

Max, who is the 2015 ACT Simpson Prize recipient, read a series of excerpts from students across Australia who were reflecting upon the service of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Australia in war.

Earlier this year, Max read ‘Scots of the Riverina’ by Henry Lawson, at the dawn service commemorating the 100th anniversary of the landing at Anzac Cove.

Max’s talents and interest in military history are leading him to a future career in this space, and certainly his skills have been recognised already.
