On Wednesday October 21 at the National Arboretum, Canberra-based legal firm Snedden, Hall and Gallop presented its annual University Scholarship for 2015. One of two recipients was Year 12 student at Lake Tuggeranong College Kate James (pictured on left) who in her winning presentation talked about the topic: “Compulsory voting results in poor decisions by uninformed and apathetic voters”. When interviewed at the ceremony, Kate said “I’m delighted at being given this opportunity by the firm and I would like to thank all my teachers past and present who helped me achieve this.”
The scholarship pays a small stipend to a student interested in law for tertiary studies and offers work opportunities. Lake Tuggeranong College congratulates Kate on winning the scholarship and encourages students in Year 11 who is also interested in law to contemplate applying in 2016.
