On Friday 5 June, six LTC students attended the World Vision Youth Conference 2015 at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). Approximately 150 students from ACT and NSW high schools and colleges attended the event.
Students had the opportunity to listen to inspirational speakers from World Vision and youth ambassadors about the challenges facing many people in our world today. The event paid particular focus to the issues of poverty and the global hunger crisis. During the day, students also worked together in teams to compete in a world domination game, learning important lessons about equality and power in our world.
Students gained valuable insight into global issues and learnt about projects that are being run locally and internationally to respond to these, as well as ways that they as individuals can be involved.
