It’s on again this year. Canberra Schools are preparing to go to Parliament and put their cases forward for a sustainable Canberra by the year 2020. Our Ecology class is currently preparing Green Papers for submission to this special parliament event which will take place on 1 June 2015 at ANU. To assist them we called a special guest speaker, Amanda Slade, from the Office of the Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment to explain to us how food and water contribute to carbon emissions in the Nation’s Capital and what we can do to reduce them by the year 2020. See-Change, a not-for-profit organisation, is coordinating the event which attracted a huge number of Canberra schools in 2013 and now will be doing the same in 2015. Wish us all good luck!
